Impression Evidence Examination
Print comparisons involve examining and comparing questioned prints (patent, plastic or developed latents) to exemplar prints in order to determine whether there is an association. Our scientists can use a variety of methods in order to develop these latent prints & can compare usable, developed prints to exemplar or known prints.
Shoe prints & tire track
Shoe print and tire track impressions are found in two forms: impression prints which are indented into a soft surface and residue prints which are left on a solid surface resulting either from debris of the sole of the shoe or surface debris removed from the surface in contact with the shoe. Similar to the idea of how fingerprints are compared, our staff can compare exemplar shoe prints or tire tracks against those in question.
