Overview
Our laboratory adheres to a strict in-house quality assurance/quality control program and our DNA section is accredited by ANAB to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for biological screening and autosomal and Y-chromosome STR analysis in forensic casework. Our laboratory also participates in external and internal proficiency testing by qualified analysts for our individual disciplines.
Forensic Analytical Crime Lab’s highly skilled and trained technical staff approaches casework in a professional and meticulous manner. We maintain a rigorous quality assurance program encompassing the analytical process from start to finish: Including sample receipt, chain-of-custody, sample tracking, sample preparation and analysis, quality control and data review, final analytical report review, issuance of client reports, and sample storage.
We also work hard to maintain our clients’ confidence in our scientific abilities and knowledge. All of our scientists are active members of multiple professional associations. To maintain their standing at the top of our industry, they participate in mandatory external proficiency testing and continuing professional education programs.

Licenses & Certificates
Forensic Analytical Crime Lab maintains the necessary licenses and certificates in order to perform casework in other forensic science disciplines. The laboratory also has current permits and licenses in order to operate within Alameda County and the City of Hayward.
Proficiency Testing
Forensic Analytical Sciences participates in external (annual/semi-annual) and internal proficiency testing of analysts and specific forensic science disciplines through tests provided by Collaborative Testing Services (CTS).By participating in external third-party testing, our laboratory team is assured of being able to provide you reliable analytical results.
