History
Forensic Analytical Crime Lab was founded in 1994 by David Kahane, inspired by the principles and teachings of Paul L. Kirk, widely regarded as the father of modern American forensics. Kirk believed that the most effective forensic analysis occurs when experts from diverse disciplines work collaboratively—in the same space and at the same time—sharing insights, brainstorming, and building on each other’s knowledge. This approach leads to the most thorough and accurate conclusions.

Today, however, the demands of reducing case backlogs have caused many forensic laboratories to move away from Kirk’s collaborative ideals. The focus on speed has often come at the expense of comprehensive analysis.

At Forensic Analytical Crime Lab, we remain committed to Kirk’s vision. Attorneys, litigators, law enforcement agencies, and private investigators turn to us because they know we bring together top experts in a uniquely collaborative environment—one that fosters precision, depth, and the highest quality results.
